Na Pali Kayak Trip

I am too lazy to post these pictures, so go look at Ford's blog. He has some really good pictures, and can actually remember the names of all the places we stopped since he lives there. Scroll down to Na Pali Kayak 1 and read from there.

Megan's Visit

Nola and Megan - she is so happy to see her other mom

My first Luau at The Royal

Sunset on Sunset Beach at North Shore

Nola getting buried - she loves the sand

Rachel and Nola lying out - this is what we do when we rest on the beach after a rough day of chasing sticks and swimming

Nola swimming again - Ford is a good teacher

Nola swimming on her own!

Ford and Nola - he is trying to get her to swim on her own

Megan and me on the first night - the best Mexican food rest in town. Obviously doesnt compare to anything back home, but it will have to suffice for now

Finally Megan came out to see me. Actually I dont think she really came to see me so much as she came to visit Nola. But either way, we both loved having her out here. The first weekend she was here Ford and his roommate came out too. We went out on Friday to the best Mexican restaurant on the island. Im sure Megan didnt enjoy it nearly as much as Ford and I did since she has been having good Mexican food all along. The highlight of the weekend was Sunday. We were headed to North Shore for the day. Instead of getting there in the normal 45 minutes it takes, I took a wrong turn and we ended up on the west side of the island which is where all the homeless people live. I dont know how i missed the turn since I go there at least twice a month, but it did give Ford, Jeff and me a chance to have our first road trip since being out there. All in all the trip took 3.5 hours. It did allow Megan to see some of the nicest beaches on the island. Once we got to Sunset beach we had a good time and Nola learned to swim with our help - she finally got in the water by herself. It is pretty scary for her since she has to jump over the waves. We also watched the sunset, which wasnt too bad. It looked like it was going to be a great sunset until just before the sun went down the clouds came out and blocked everything. I think this was one of Megan's best sunday nights in a long time - although I dont know how a sunday spent at little woodrows could top this.
Monday night we went to a luau - my first and megan's second. It was fun - highlights were the kalua pig we ate and the hottest hawaiian i have seen since being here. I dont know that either one of us watched any of the show since we were trying to make eye contact with him the whole time. I am going to find out who this mystery dancer is (yes he was one of the dancers in the show) and make wedding plans.
Tuesday we pretty much bummed around. Shopped and sat on the beach. I tried to get Megan to come out surfing with me but she passed. Wednesday and Thursday I worked, and i am not sure what megan did. She didnt bring any guys home with her, so I am pretty sure she didnt do anything useful.
Before Megan came out here my mom gave her money to take us out to dinner, so that is what we did tonight. And tomorrow I am going to get megan on a surfboard. Hopefully I wont kill her and she wont see any sharks. if neither of those things happen, than it was a successful outing. Right now she and Nola are lying in bed saying their goodbyes. She leaves tomorrow night to head home and I head to kauai to kayak the na pali. Ford just informed me that we are camping on a nude beach, so Megan is suddenly trying to change her flight so she can come with us. It should be a really cool trip. We are landing on a beach that you can only get to by kayaks and I will be sure and post some pictures. Anyway, i have to go now and stop the kissing session that is going on between megan and nola in her bed. If you go to the link there are pictures of what has been going on each night. Apparently megan hasnt seen this much action in a long time.

Random Pictures

Not too much exciting has been going on out here. We start our long distance season in Paddling next week, and Megan, Ford and his roommate are going to be out here to watch my first race. Basically it is a huge party when we finish, so I am sure they will be having plenty of fun by the time I get back to the beach.
I have some pictures from our championship race and from a hike Nola, my friend, and I went on over by my house. The hike was called Kuliouou and is the first real hike I have done on Oahu. It was pretty incredible. Check out Nola's tongue - Hilarious.
The pictures from the race are of my paddling crew and some of my friends from my team. Also, we have a new member. He wasnt really dressed to race, but hopefully he will be in shape next time he comes to visit. He is the one in the pink shirt and blue hat holding the paddle. Mom, make no comments about my arms, i already have had people at work ask me what steroids I am on. They will keep getting bigger until the season is over, and then hopefully i can get back to normal size until next year. But until then i will have man arms and shoulders and will be wearing my new wardrobe with sleeves large enough to fit. The good news is i can finally beat up my brother if need be.
Hope everyone is doing well. I am back home in less than 6 weeks for a visit!
